  7.     On the set, director JEAN-JACQUES ANNAUD (Quest for Fire)
  8. didn't exactly do lunch with his leading, er, bear. On one
  9. occasion, he nearly was lunch for Bart, a 2,000-lb. Kodiak that
  10. wanted to be left alone. Annaud followed Bart and some other
  11. temperamental ursines around for nine months to film The Bear,
  12. a $25 million feature flick about the relationship between a
  13. solitary bear and an orphaned cub. The movie has already
  14. subjected Europe and Japan to a barrage of bear-mania. It opens
  15. next month in the U.S. Certainly gives you paws.
